| English | Granny came here on the Empire Windrush- we described how people travelling on the Windrush would feel coming to England for the first time. |
| History | Slave trade- we learnt about the middle passage and life working on the plantations in America. We wrote a diary entry of a slave. |
| Science | Animals including humans- we learnt about the digestive system and modelled each stage practically using a sandwich bag (stomach), crackers and banana (food), and a pair of tights (the intestines). |
| Art | Microphotography- we photographed fruit and vegetables close up and experimented with editing software. |
| Computing | Year 4: Investigating weather- this week we designed a weather station which will measure the level of rain, temperature and wind. Year 5: Micro bit programming- this week we played around with the micro bit programme to get used to the different functions. |
Kites
| Maths | Completed fractions and started our unit on ratio (Year 6). Long multiplication (Year 5). |

| SPAG | Spelling shed year 5 tested on time adverbials. New words - suffix [fer]. Year 6 tested on suffix [ible]. New words - common exception words. |

| Science | Animals including humans Year 6: we looked at the human heart, its parts and functions. Year 5: we investigated the human digestion system. |
