Kites Class Assembly - Friday 8th November
Your child should have come home on Wednesday 23rd October with a script for the class assembly. Please encourage your child to practise and learn their lines for the Monday 4th November. Please can all children also practise the 'It's all Greek to me' song in preparation for our class assembly.
We have talked to the children about them having the option of dressing up for the assembly. Children's roles and costume ideas are listed on the front of their script.
Pupils - normal school uniform; Narrators - either Ancient Greek outfit eg. toga or normal school uniform; Ancient Olympic athlete - white vest and shorts; Modern Olympic athlete - sports wear; Greek God - white toga (sheet/towel). If your child would rather not dress up, they can wear their normal school uniform.
Thank you, The Kites Team
Parent's Evening
Parents are invited to make an appointment for a five minute meeting with Mrs Cairns and Mrs McMahon on Monday 14th October. Booking details have been emailed out.
Harvest Service
It's our Harvest Service at St John's Church on Friday 4th October 2024 at 9:30am.
Kites will be performing a song called 'Thank you for the Sunshine'.
Children have been given a copy of the lyrics to take home (Monday 16th Sept). Please make sure children know all of the lyrics off by heart. Here's the song so children can practise at home.
On Thursday 12th September 2024, Bishop Monkton school will be voting for their school council members. In year five, Sylvia, Charlotte, Evie M, Evie G, Arthur and Teddy are all candidates for the school council. In year six, Lainey, Zinny, Olivia, Sophia, Louis and Eddie are all running for school council. They all want the school to be a better and happier place than it already is. Every child will individually go into Mrs Cowling’s office to have the chance to vote for who they think will be suitable for the job and responsibility. The candidates have asked a few people what they would like to have: more equipment and more choice of dinner and more clubs. We wish the best of luck to our school council candidates! 🤞
