School of Sanctuary
29/9/22 On this page, we shall share our plans and actions towards becoming a School of Sanctuary. We want to be a safe place for people to find refuge in.
Plan: We are planning to build a garden of sanctuary where we can reflect and feel peaceful.
March We have been thinking about how we can be welcoming and respectful to all people. Today, as part of our ‘Linking’ school we met children from Dixon Primary, Bradford. We thought carefully about how we could be welcoming. Lots of fun was had. Yasmin, a lovely lady from Skipton, whose parents were bought up in Pakistan, helped us to understand a little more of Arabic culture. At Bishop Monkton we are committed to developing the British Values of tolerance and respect among staff and children.
Our squad brilliantly made a welcome card for a Ukrainian family that have recently moved to the area. They looked up ‘welcome’, in Ukrainian.
