Higher Level Teaching Assistant

EYFS / KS1

30 hours per week Term Time Only

Commencing September 2025

Fixed Term contract to July 2026

Bishop Monkton CE Primary School is a warm and welcoming Church of England school, located in a picturesque village just south of Ripon. The school was judged to be Good overall in a 2023 Ofsted inspection and Good in 2019 SIAMS inspection. Leaders promote a culture in which both children and staff want to work together to be their best. Our children are happy, confident and eager to learn.  Our excellent staff team are committed to achieving high standards and are able to do this with the support of enthusiastic governors and parents.


The children, staff and Governors are looking for an HLTA to join our hardworking and successful team commencing September 2025.  You will be working alongside the class teacher offering support to children in EYFS / KS1. This maybe individually, in small groups or teaching a cohort.


Our successful applicant will:

  • Have experience working with a range of children in EYFS/KS1 including those with SEND
  • Have experience with teaching phonics and early reading.
  • Have shared responsibility for the learning and achievement of all pupils in the class ensuring equality of opportunity for all and encouraging children to love learning and achieve their full potential.
  • As well as being a team player be able to work on their own initiative in the best interests of pupils.
  • Treat pupils with dignity, building relationships rooted in mutual respect, and at all times observing proper boundaries.
  • Take responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the school
