Bishop Monkton CE Primary School is a warm and welcoming Church of England school, located in a picturesque village just south of Ripon. The school was judged to be Good overall in a 2023 Ofsted inspection and Good in 2019 SIAMS inspection. The children, staff and Governors are looking for an outstanding and enthusiastic teacher to join our hardworking and successful team.  The post is for a part-time maternity cover for a class teacher currently with a Year 4 / 5 class (subject to change in September), commencing 1st June 2026 with an expected finish date of 12th March 2027.

 

Our successful applicant will:

  • Be experienced at working with a range of children in KS2 including those with SEND
  • Be responsible for the learning and achievement of all pupils in the class ensuring equality of opportunity for all and encouraging children to love learning and achieve their full potential
  • Be responsible and accountable for achieving the highest possible standards in work and conduct
  • Be a team player, able to work proactively and effectively in collaboration and partnership with learners, parents/carers, governors and other staff in the best interests of pupils
  • Be responsible for leading a subject area across the school
  • Treat pupils with dignity, building relationships rooted in mutual respect, and always observing
    proper boundaries appropriate to a teacher’s professional position
  • Take responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the school

Nursery Assistant, term time only

Vacancy Initial hours: 22.5 hours per week
Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 12noon – 3.30pm, 
Tuesday and Friday 9am – 3.30pm

 

This post is offered as a Variable Hours Fixed Term Contract
minimum 12 hours – maximum 29 hours
as the opportunity for additional hours may quickly become available

 

Initially for a Fixed Term contract: 
Initially to 31st July 2026

 

An enthusiastic part time GTA is required to start as soon as possible on a variable hours fixed term contract to July 2026. Applications are welcome from those with relevant experience with an early years Level 2 / Level 3 qualification being preferable.

 

Your role will involve working alongside other early years practitioners in our new nursery building, under the direction of the Early Years Leader.

 

You will need to be able to work as part of a team showing flexibility and a willingness to adapt where necessary.

 

GTA post is paid at Salary Grade C, SCP 3-6
Enhanced DBS disclosure is essential for this post.

Cleaner and Caretaker
Salary: £12.65 - £13.47 per hour +£200 recruitment payment*
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: Up to 23 hours per week
Location: Ripon, North Yorkshire
 

Are you looking for a cleaning role that is a little different? We have an opportunity for you to join North Yorkshire Council working at one of our schools, Bishop Monkton C of E Primary School, Bishop Monkton HG3 3QW.


You will be a valued member of our team who will be reliable, dependable and have a strong work ethic. Working for NYC as a Cleaner, you will be responsible for the cleaning duties on site including dusting, vacuuming and the cleaning of sanitary fittings. Full training will be provided, and the hours are between 15:30 and 19:15, with some flexibility on start and finish time and totalling 18 hours per week over 5 days. For this you will be paid £12.65 per hour.

 

No weekend work!


In addition to this, we can offer the caretaker responsibilities of locking the site after cleaning, setting the alarm, and ensuring the site is fully secure. For this we will pay you an additional £12.85- £13.47 per hour, based on 5 hours per week.


One applicant may be suitable for both roles, although we will consider each role individually.
